For all of you who told me not to cry today - I didn't, but boy did I get a lump in my throat. She made me proud. She hung her Princess backpack up on the hook, walked into a classroom of new kids, 11 girls and 7 boys, sat down and never looked back. Wade and i kept standing there and then we realized that we had to go, and it was then that i realized that all too soon I would have to let her go, too. For all the stress I have associated with a messy house, constant laundry, changing diapers, playing chauffeur, and staying consistent at every turn, I wouldn't trade it for all the riches of this world! It happened so gradually. I was just rocking Gracie to sleep yesterday in a small apartment, telling her she needed to stop growing and now here she is almost 4 years old and I'll have to say she is a beautiful young lady. But don't worry I didn't cry, i came home put Charlie down for a nap, got out some chocolate and a book and i was in heaven.....:) And don't worry i took a TON of pics of her on her first day, they'll be coming soon!

Well, if you aren't going to cry, I will. :) She is growing up SO fast! Wasn't it just yesterday we were all at the hospital holding her in all her "roly-poly, full head of hair" glory for the first time? Not to worry...the best is yet to come! Love you Gracie, and I'm proud of you, too! Miss you guys!

I know exactly how you feel. But I still have about 3 weeks before I have to experience this. My son just turned 4 and is starting preschool at Cascade Christian. Hopefully he does as well as Gracie did on her first day. It's going to tear me apart if he doesn't want me to leave him. (he tends to be a momma's boy). I'll keep you posted. Can't wait to see her first day of school picks... did you take her school clothes shopping? :-)
