First Date

i saw this on a friends blog and thought it was so funny...... If you didn't see this on the Tonight show, I hope you're sitting down when you read it. This is probably the funniest date story ever, first date or not!!! We have all had bad dates but this takes the cake. Jay Leno went into the audience to find the most embarrassing first date that a woman ever had. The winner described her worst first date experience. There was absolutely no question as to why her tale took the prize! She said it was midwinter... Snowing and quite cold...and the guy had taken her skiing in the mountains outside Salt Lake City, Utah. It was a day trip (no overnight), they were strangers, after all, and truly had never met before. The outing was fun but relatively uneventful until they were headed home late that afternoon. They were driving back down the mountain, when she gradually began to realize that she should not have had that extra latte. They were about an hour away from anywhere with a rest room and in the middle of nowhere! Her companion suggested she try to hold it, which she did for a while. Unfortunately, because of the heavy snow and slow going, there came a point where she told him that he had better stop and let Her go beside the road, or it would be the front seat of his car. They stopped and she quickly crawled out beside the car, Yanked her pants down and started. In the deep snow she didn't have good footing, so she let her butt rest against the rear fender to steady herself. Her companion stood on the side of the car watching for traffic and indeed was a real gentleman and refrained from peeking. All she could think about was the relief she felt despite the rather embarrassing nature of the situation. Upon finishing however, she soon became aware of another sensation. As she bent to pull up her pants, the young lady discovered her buttocks were firmly glued against the car's fender. Thoughts of tongues frozen to poles immediately came to mind as she attempted to disengage her flesh from the icy metal. It was quickly apparent that she had a brand new problem due to the extreme cold. Horrified by her plight and yet aware of the humor of the moment, she answered her date's concerns about 'what is taking so long' with a reply that indeed, she was 'freezing her butt off' and in need of some assistance! He came around the car as she tried to cover herself with her sweater and then, as she looked imploringly into his eyes, he burst out laughing. She too, got the giggles and when they finally managed to compose themselves, they assessed her dilemma. Obviously, as hysterical as the situation was, they also were faced with a real problem. Both agreed it would take something hot to free her chilly cheeks from the grip of the icy metal! Thinking about what had gotten her into the predicament in the first place, both quickly realized that there was only one way to get her free. So, as she looked the other way, her first-time date proceeded to unzip his pants and pee her butt off the fender. As the audience screamed in laughter, she took the Tonight Show prize hands down. Or perhaps that should be 'pants down.' And you thought your first date was embarrassing. Jay Leno's comment... 'This gives a whole new meaning to being pissed off. Oh, and how did the first date turn out? He became her husband and was sitting next to her on the Leno show.

Family Pictures

I found a great lady in Missouri that takes some awesome pictures. She met us downtown in St. Charles and they had decorated the town all up for Christmas. Old Town St. Charles has the old cobblestone streets and they've taken all the old buildings and turned them into cute little stores. I was bummed when I saw it was raining on the day of our family photos, but it stopped right as we started shooting. Charlie was not in a good mood and had a really runny nose, and Gracie fell the night before and hit her head in the exact same spot as before and had a bad bruise...BUT our photographer Kay was awesome and she was able to catch a smile from Charlie and we even got a shot of Wade and I. She's only given us a sneak peek at the photos and the rest will be ready in a few days. There was a really good one in black and white of the whole fam....BUT i'm not putting it up because it may be the one I choose for our Christmas cards. Anyway, I'll post more later...enjoy these. When she's got them all up i'll give you guys (Mom and Dad) the website and you can order some if you want.

Go Mizzou!!!!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas and Missouri first met on the football field in 1891 and have played 115 times since. The rivalry has always been fierce. This time around, it's also important. Really important. There'll be a sellout crowd of nearly 80,000 frenzied fans Saturday night for the No. 2 Jayhawks and No. 4 Tigers, the biggest game ever played in the second-oldest rivalry in college football. The victor is the Big 12 North champion and knows a win the following week in the conference title game will likely it into the national championship game. That would be an achievement neither Kansas nor Missouri has ever come close to.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

"It is therefore recommended ... to set apart Thursday the eighteenth day of December next, for solemn thanksgiving and praise, that with one heart and one voice the good people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts and consecrate themselves to the service of their divine benefactor ..." Samuel Adams November 1, 1777 (adopted by the 13 states as the first official Thanksgiving Proclamation)

A beautiful day

It has been so nice the last two days and i've made sure we've gotten outside to take advantage of it. They were outside a lot yesterday and today we invited some friends over and they all played outside for a couple hours. It felt nice to not have to worry about our coats...but so wierd that Thanksgiving will be here in two days. Daddy and Gracie were both worn out!!!

Illinois...if you don't like the weather just wait...it will change

The weather is crazy here! Each morning i get up and i have no clue if i'm going to be putting on a shirt or a sweater and a big coat. I'm not joking at all but our high for tomorrow is 75 degrees....ahhh!!! It's so WIERD, but i'm excited. During prayers tonight i told Gracie that God is going to give us one more day of summer before He brings on winter. And yes, he will be bringing it on....the high for Thanksgiving...40 degrees...ya, they are expecting snow. Put the shorts on tomorrow, and then the snowsuit on Thursday....wierd. :)

We love you!! I found some great old pics....wow how fast the years have flown by...you and Gracie or getting so old...stop..!! :)

The perfect tree.....a little early!!

It was a beautiful day yesterday and we figured we would beat the rush and head out to get our tree!! Who says you have to wait until AFTER Thanksgiving??? Since we'll be leaving early to spend Christmas in Washington we wanted to get our tree up as soon as possible. We headed out to Pocahantas, il (yes, the home of Gretchen Wilson, if anyone cares). The kids loved riding the tractor out and picking, and then sawing down our own tree. It reminded me of being a kid when i would head out with my fam and do this very same thing. So, we may have started Christmas a little early, but I LOVE the way it looks in our house now.

The finished product!!!

The kids were so excited to get the tree up and decorated, they were both really into it this year. Charlie kept jumping up and down in excitement. Oh, and I threw in a pic of our new chairs we got for the living room, i know a few of you wanted to see them. Anyway, it feels so warm and cozy in our house now with the tree up...Christmas is here!!!
