Katie's B-day

My little sis turned 23 on March 7th. We all got together and spent a beautiful Saturday together. We had a picnic, did some antique shopping, and had a wonderful dinner together. Katie is 7 years younger than me, so I was always a second mom to her..so of course I'm amazed that she is 23..the year I was went I got married...wow I was young! We love you Kate!
My new favorite photo...sheer joy! My two favorite boys! Nanna and Pappa and the kids
Something next to me was way more exciting...:)

YMCA CIRCUS

Gracie attends the YMCA and she loves it! Each year they put on a circus and each child gets a part in it, a moment of glory! This circus has been going on for 40 years! Gracie was a trapeze artist and she got to swing and stand on the swing. She was very excited, and not a bit shy. She did a great job and we were all super proud of her!
Here she is with some of her friends. The bottom right pictures is her teacher, Mrs. Ransick, who Gracie LOVES! Good job sis!

The Windy City

Well I am super late posting this....we've been sooo busy lately! We had a great trip to Chicago, the first for the kids and I! However, since it was freezing the whole time, I don't think we really got a great view of the city. I was hardly able to even take pics, it was really cold! But we managed to have fun anyway.
The first night we stayed at an indoor waterpark that the kids absolutely LOVED! I didn't get any pictures because I didn't want to lug my big camera around and then worry about it getting stolen, and it was nice to just enjoy the moment. I think we could have stayed there all weekend and the kids would have been fine. Gracie especially loved that she was big enough to go down all the water slides alone.
The next night we stayed right downtown on the 4oth floor...we could see the Hancock building right out our window. Even though it was freezing we still braved the cold and walked around a bit. My parents were there with us, so we all went out to eat the famous deep dish pizza...and man it was GOOD! We visited the Aquarium, which the kids enjoyed. We fit a lot into our weekend and we can't wait to get back again and see the city in the summer!

Things kids say...

For the record my computer will not separate things out..when I'm preparing the post it looks great, and even when I preview it...but when I hit, publish the post and I look on the blog at it, it's just all together. It drives me crazy, but I wanted everyone to know I don't do it on purpose. A few things I wanted to remember.... Charlie has mastered peeing standing up and he's pretty proud of himself. I have to give Wade full credit as he has taught him everything. The first time Charlie stood up, Wade and I were standing there watching him do his business, and he did it perfectly. He then turned around, pulled up his undies and said, "well...I guess I a daddy now!" Too funny! Gracie is amazing me every day, in fact day she asked me when her half birthday was coming...I went to the calendar and realized it is today! So happy 5 and a half to my beautiful princess. She's been learning the pledge of allegiance in school and it's always funny to hear how the mess up the words, but she has the whole thing memorized. She told me dad the other day that she gets really nervous every time it gets to the part, "what so proudly we hail" because she's afraid she's going to say, "what so proudly we hell..." I'm trying to get down more of what they say, it really cracks me up and I want to remember it as they get older (or maybe just when they are making me really angry!)
