Fun in the sun!
Today was a beautiful summer day! Finally the rain took a break! It got up into the 80's and with no humity...it felt wonderful. The kids had a birthday playgroup in the morning at a local park and they LOVED every moment of it. Then the came home and BOTH TOOK NAPS..WOW! Then one of our friends invited us over to play in their pool. The kids had a blast...and they were exhausted...and so am I!! :)

Carnival
We had a neighborhood bbq and decided to take the kids about a mile down the road to a carnival that the local Catholic church was putting on. The kids had a really good time!
Our next door neighbor Severine, Charlie and Gracie on the carousel
Gracie on her FIRST big kid roller coaster, she was just barely tall enough!
You can see her little head peeking out, she was a little scared, but super excited!
Charlie was sad that he wasn't big enough to go with sissy...:( Notice the cotton candy all over his face. And Gigi gave him a pink panther that is over 20 years old..and he won't let it go!
So I took him over to the cars and he LOVED it...:)

Grants Farm
On Friday we headed to Grants Farm with our new friends that we met through MOMS group. Gracie loves Caroline and the two of them have become fast friends. Grants Farm was a blast! The kids loved riding the tram out to see all the cool animals. They had a petting zoo of goats and they gave each kid a bottle of milk. The goats were wild and I guess hungry because they would jump up onto anyone with milk. Gracie loved it, but poor Charlie kept getting knocked over....until he found one little goat that must have been full. Charlie found the brush and just sat by the goat brushing it's fur. It was so neat to see so many unique animals, especially the Clydsdale horses. I think the highlight though for the kids may have been the special frozen treat they got at the end..:)

Last day of school
Today was Gracie's last day of school and it was a bittersweet day. I can't believe the school year is through and now summer is here!! Today was her day at school, so she got to be the line leader and the first to do everything. My sister came in to help out and brought the kids cupcakes! Gracie was so excited for the whole day, but sad to have to say goodbye to her teacher and friends. Most of them are heading on to kindergarten in the fall, and Gracie will be switching schools and going to the YMCA for pre-k, however she's super excited to be one of the oldest in that class.
Yay...SUMMER IS HERE!!!
Last day of school!
First day of school!
She keeps telling me that she's so much bigger now that she's almost 5!
How cute are these two?!?!
Had to throw a pic of my little man in...daddy fixed his buzz cut so he's looking a lot better now! :)

Mother's Day Luncheon
On Friday I went to school with Gracie for their Mother's Day luncheon. I had so much fun with her, getting to sit and enjoy lunch with all of her friends and their moms. I am constantly amazed at how fast my little girl is growing up! I really enjoy the times I get to spend just the two of us.

Me and my girl
We had a beautiful weekend! We spent the whole day on Saturday outside working on our yard. Wade and I unloaded two truckloads of beauty bark and it is amazing how great our house looks now! It was a lot of work though! Sunday we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Mueller's house for their Mother's day brunch. They were gone last weekend, so they had the whole gang over on Sunday. It was a blast and the kids played outside the whole day. I hope the good weather stays around!

"Early" white gates
I have no clue how to turn this video, so I guess you'll just have to turn your head. It will be well worth it though, I love hearing Gracie sing about the early white gates. How cute!
Mother's Day and Charlie's new "do"
I had a great Mother's day! This year Wade and I decided to host a brunch at our place for everyone. It was a blast! I made some yummy french toast and quiche, and Wade made his wonderful sausage and potatoes. It was a good time, however I was soooo busy I didn't have time to take any pictures. In the evening Wade took the kids and I out to the Spagetti Factory. Katie was working so we sat in her section and the kids got so excited every time Autie KK came by. Wade got me a new IPOD so now I can run with some music. I realized that I really need music to work out or else I have no motivation. In fact on my first run this week I made it two miles!!! woo-hoo!!
I also got to go on a little shopping trip. I NEVER buy anything for myself. I'm sure all you mommies can sympathize with me. But when we have extra money I want to buy stuff for the kids, for the house, for the yard, for my husband, but never for myself. Wade told me that I need to go out and shop just for ME...It was hard, but once I got going, it got a little easier. I took my little sis along since I have no style, and she helped get me some cute stuff. The best part was going to Victoria Secret. Now, this may be TMI...but I've always wanted to buy a bra there, but I always think it's WAY too expensive. Well.....I bought one super awesome push up bra and 7 pairs of underwear....and it was $100, I was in shock!! I hope it all lasts a long time because I don't know when i'll go back and do that again! The frugal side of me was about to throw up, but my girly side was excited to get some nice things. Thank you to my wonderful husband for making me get out there and buy something for myself.
Oh and check out Charlie's new haircut! His hair was getting super long and I couldn't keep it fron sticking up everywhere, so I buzzed it. He screamed bloody murder the WHOLE time, but doesn't he look so much better??? :)

The ZOO
On Tuesday my mom, sisters and myself decided to take the kids to the St. Louis zoo. The best part about this zoo is that it's FREE!!! It was a perfect day to go, the weather was nice and it wasn't crowded. Charlie's favorite was the penguins and Gracie's was the butterfly garden.

The kids LOVED the penguins

A fun weekend
We had a great weekend, the weather was awesome, it stayed in the mid 70's to upper 70's the whole weekend!! Friday I took the kids to a park near our house, I have no clue why, but they love this park and beg me to take them their all the time. Friday evening Wade's mom took BOTH kids overnight (Pappa was turkey hunting) and Wade and I had a blast. We ate Sushi, did some shopping, and then stopped in for some drinks at a local wine bar in town. We got to sleep late the next day....ahhh..and then we worked on the yard most of Saturday and some of Sunday. We planted all kinds of new flowers and now we just need to get the bark mulch down. Sunday afternoon we headed over to Wade's godson's birthday. The kids got to run around, climb in trees and all that fun stuff.
It was a laid back weekend, and the perfect temperature. I hope it's a repeat next weekend...i know the hot humidity is coming, but spring here really is awesome!

And she scores!
And then Gigi gave it a try!
Auntie Katie and Uncle Russ seeing how long Charlie can hang on
Charlie could have stayed up there all day....I think Charlie and Pappa both slept well after today!
